Garway Community Centre is a multi-purpose community centre operated by the Garway Community Centre CIO. It sits at the heart of the village – a cosy place built to PassivHaus standards – with solar panels and a MVHR system for maximum economy and comfort.

Hire the Hall

The Community Center has a main hall (equipped with a stage, projector and sound system) a cafe and a medical centre. The facilities have the flexibility to meet a great range of needs. AGM:Garway Village Hall Charity and Garway Community Centre Charity CIO 15.06.2023
During the COVID 19 Pandemic March 2020 – March 2022 The Community Centre was required to closed for public use as per government guidelines, the building was kept operational for the sole use of the school next door to ease social distancing challenges.
Some of the community formed a successful support hub and as time went on the community become resilient and self-supporting.
The Community Centre re opened with a phased approach from July to December 2022. The information in the links below was useful and remain here in case anyone wishes to refer back. Lets hope communities are never in this situation again, however, with community spirit we will reform again if required.

Sale of Old Village Hall
Trustees are pleased to advise that the sale of the Old Garway Village Hall Site finally completed on 19.05.22. Merging the assets of the old Garway Village Hall charity is in progress and approval is awaited from the Charities Commission to transfer remaining assets in to the Garway Community Centre (CIO)
Trustees accepted an offer on the old hall site and remain in the conveyancing process. Our Lawyer advised the details of this remains commercially sensitive which means it is confidential until the sale completes. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
The vote at the meeting on Thursday 9th May in the Community Centre on the sale of the Old Village Hall was 91 votes in favour and 1 vote against. The draft minutes of the meeting will be posted on the website shortly.. The calling notice and agenda are here

LEADER Grant
We are pleased to announce that the LEADER grant for audio visual and performance equipment for the community centre is now completed. Thanks to the generous cash donations from the Flicks in the Sticks, Garway Heritage Group, Garway Pantomime and @Garway events the necessary match funding required to receive the grant was achieved. All the grant funding has now been received and the sound, visual and PA equipment has been installed by volunteers to support world class experiences for the community.
